Renewable Fuel
São Francisco Plant also produces alcohol fuel, a clean and renewable source that currently represents the only viable worldwide alternative to the use of fossil fuels by automotive vehicles. The alcohol derives from both the juice from the milling and the molasses resulting from the production of sugar.
These substances are subjected to a biological fermentation process whose final product consists of fermented must.
Subsequently, the yeast or biological yeast is removed from the must by using centrifuges, obtaining the wine. For the most part, the resulting yeast returns to the fermentation process. A small part is removed from the process, subjected to drying and marketed as a high quality protein supplement for animal feed. The wine is sent to the distillation apparatus, where the hydrated alcohol is obtained. Here, everything is reused in a way that helps you and the environment.
