Characteristics: Medium-size species measuring about 30cm in length, with a thin body and a long tail. Its back is bright green and it has a coffee color head and dark colored tail, having a longitudinal stripe laterally that turns lighter toward the tip.
Distribution: It can be found from Panama to Southern Brazil and Northern Argentina, East of the Andes.
Habitat: Formations open to forests, in edges and clearings in the riparian forests and gallery, including urban areas.
Habits: Diurnal and terrestrial.
Diet: Omnivorous; it also feeds on insects and even plants.
Breeding: Oviparous. Reproduction occurs nearly year-round, but during the dry season there is a decrease in reproductive activity. Each female may lay more than one brood during the year, each ranging from 1 to 11 eggs.
UFRA: Species spotted in all environments, but mostly in organic sugarcane fields.
