Characteristics: Medium-size species measuring 3.0cm to 5.0cm in length. Its coloration varies a lot, from brown to gray, and it closely resembles Scinax fuscovarius.

Distribution: Southern and Southeastern Brazil, found in the Serra do Mar and Serra da Mantiqueira mountain ranges, between the States of Espírito Santo and Santa Catarina.

Habitat: Open to forest formations in riparian and gallery forest edges.

Habits: Crepuscular, nocturnal, and arboreal. This species prefers shadier areas, such as forest edges. It is usually found in low vegetation near streams and puddles.

Diet: Small insects and arthropods.

Breeding: Oviparous, spawning in puddles adjacent to streams, lakes or even swimming pools. This frog spawns on the bottom of or among the submerged vegetation.

UFRA: Species seen in Wetlands with Herbaceous Plants and Restored Native Forests.
