Yellow-browed Tyrant
Satrapa icterophrys | Vieillot, 1818

Characterization: Small species measuring about 16.5 cm in length. It has short beak, an intense olive-green upper side, a dark side of the head, wings and tail, a broad brow, its entire lower side is intense yellow and its wings display two whitish stripes.

Distribution: From eastern and central Brazil to Bolivia and Uruguay.

Habitat: Edge of the secondary woods, salt marshes, and lake edges.

Habits: Diurnal, monogamist, and aggressive species, showing nervousness through sudden movements of the wings.

Diet: Carnivorous, its diet consists of arthropods such as insects, spiders, etc.

Breeding: During mating they performing characteristic demonstrations.

In the UFRA area: This bird species' spatial distribution was restricted to the forests in spontaneous regeneration. It is considered rare, as it was seen only once.
