Characterization: Small species measuring about 12cm in length. The male is gray on its upper parts and white on the lower ones; the female is olive-brown on its upper parts and brownish-beige on the lower ones.

Distribution: Argentina, Paraguay, Bolivia, and Brazil.

Habitat: Grassy areas with shrubs and vegetation thickets, often near water, in marshy areas and riverbanks and lakes.

Habits: A diurnal species, this bird lives alone or in spread pairs and rarely associates with other species.

Diet: Herbivore, feeding off of seeds.

In the UFRA area: This bird species was seen only 2 times, so it is considered rare in the studied farms. The habitats it occurred in were wetlands with herbaceous plants and fields in spontaneous regeneration. Restricted spatial distribution.
