Characterization: Small species measuring about 34cm in length. The upper side of its wing is crossed by a white stripe that is more visible in flight, and it has a kind of scaly semi-collar on its neck. 

Distribution: From the Northeast to Rio Grande do Sul, Goiás, South of Mato Grosso, Bolivia, and Argentina.

Habitat: Typical "capão" vegetation, gallery forests, and savanna.

Habits: A diurnal species, this bird associates in flocks after the breeding season and migrates.

Diet: Herbivorous, specifically granivore and frugivorous, feeding on grains, seeds, fruits, and plants.

Breeding: It lays 2 eggs in a fragile, platform-shaped stick nest built in trees or on the ground.

In the UFRA area: This bird species was found in all studied farms. These areas are organic sugarcane crops, exotic woods, wetlands with herbaceous plants, wetlands with riparian forests, in mixed forests in regeneration, restored native forests, in drainage ditches, and in forests and fields in spontaneous regeneration. This bird was the one with the most sightings, having been seen 179 times.
