Distribution: Throughout Brazil.

Habitat: Common in large urban centers.

Habits: A diurnal species, this bird has an instinct to always return to its place of origin, having been used as a messenger ever since antiquity.

Diet: Herbivorous, specifically granivore and frugivorous, feeding on grains, seeds, fruits, and plants.

Breeding: It lays 2 eggs in a fragile, platform-shaped stick nest built in trees or on the ground.
