The certification seal grants trustfulness to an organic product: it guarantees such product was done according to internationalstandards of management and quality demanded for organics. Thisseal is only conceded to production processes that don't use anychemical pesticides, synthetic mineral fertilizers or geneticallymodified organisms (GMO).

Besides that, such process must promote ecologic balance in the cropfields and the company shall exert positive social and economic impact over its community.

São Francisco Mill was the first in Brazil to receive international certification in 1997. Since then we obtained other certificates by respected and rigourous certification agencies, according to European, North American and Japanese standards, which opened us several countries' markets. We are currently certified by the Brazilian agency IBD (Instituto Biodinâmico) and by Ecocert, a renowned European agency with activities in Brazil. Both agencies certifiy organic products according to international standards. We are also certified by ICS/Japan, according to Japanese standards for organic production.

The certification of a vegetal, animal or industrial production process implies the following tasks were performed:

01. Periodic audits by an inspector in the production site;

02. Evaluation of the inpection report by a committee formed by farmers, processors, researchers, technicians and consumers;

03. Residual analysis to verify product purity;

04. Production unity approval, according to organic or biodynamic standards.
